Curious about St. Barts hotels...
Could anyone comment on Hotel Guanahani, Le Toiny, Hotel Gustaf, and Isle de France?
Which one(s) is/are right on a beach?
Do they all have private plunge pools?
Which is known for best service?
Thanks!
Which St. Barts hotel is on the beach?

Gustaf is in town so not on the beach
For beach either Isle de France or Guanahani. They are the best. Isle de France is probably the best hotel on the island - they have a spa there now too. I would suggest Isle de France, I am sure you have looked into it and its not cheap. It is on Flammands beach which is a fabulous beach.
I think the service is better there than other places.
Gustaf I would go in for dinner or cocktails, its beautiful overlooking Gustavia (which is pretty much the most beautiful harbor in the Caribbean)

I stayed at Guanahani and really like it. It is on the beach. Le Toiny is NOT on the beach you have to go down a hill to get to it, but the most remarkable service! We dined there and were treated as royalty. Isle de France is also on beach and quite lovely.
I suggest also to go on the sbhonline.com website. They can give you major information!
Have fun...St Barth's is my most favorite island!
Eden Rock, Le Toiny, Isle de France...
Any updates, more current comments?
All wonderful hotels, all a small fortune, surely, any of the above would make a wonderful stay! How about for 4 couples celebrating major life milestones (like 50th b-days, and 20th and 25th anniversaries)? We are most interested in having private room plunge pools, gorgeous beach, and great service. THanks in advance for any additional info.
When we were on St. Barts last year we checked these out and decided next time to stay here:

Check out my St. Barts report for more details on our trip.
Maggi - I totally agree with you. This is where I would stay next time also. We looked at this on our last trip (end of '05) and I would definitely stay there.
