Which island(s)?

Jump to last reply

Hello fodor-ites. I had a similar question in the past, but somehow I cannot find any of the related thread. We are a family of 5, with 3 young kids, ages 5, 7, and 11. We have vacationed in the Cayman (grand cayman), and Turks and Caicos before. In fact, 5 times at TCI, and we always love the calm and crystal clear waters at TCI. We stayed all times at The Sands resort. Every time we considered a different island, we were not 'brave' enough to try something new, because we have become accustomed and used to the familiarity of the Sands and of course the calm and clear waters on the seven mile beach. Our target period is a 10 day stay during the end of June, beginning of July. Those who are familiar with the Sands resort may be able to better assist, as we are interested in something similar, but this time looking at other islands. We are unfamiliar with the rest of the Caribbean, but were suggested/recommended the US Virgin islands. We are willing to rent a vehicle, to move around, but we would rather stay at a resort that has a full kitchen so we can cook on site. We prefer an on site restaurant too (just like the Hemingway's at the Sands) for the convenience. Our budget is similar to that of what's typical of the Sands ($300-500 per night) depending on the size/number of rooms. We will need definitely a 2 room, 2 bath place. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Chris
