which island is best for fam vaca in july with teens

I originally posted questions about where to stay in jamaica with teen girls and 9 year old bold. We really aren't the all inclusive resort type of vacationers. The more I read about Jamaica the more I'm concerned about safety with adventurous teens. Any thoughts on best Island in July for families interested in water activities, caving, fishing etc. Very nice place to stay but not too crowded or touristy.

What type of budget do you have for accommodations? What is budget for airfare? (Give specific dollar range, not nebulous terms s like "affordable" or "not too expensive"). Where are you flying from? How important is "caving" (not available on many islands)?

Airfare is free(delta air miles).
around $1000 a night, needs to include room enough for all 5 of us
Caving not important
Pool is important

Look at Caneel Bay on St. John, USVI's (fly into St. Thomas then take short ferry to St. John). No pool but 7 different on site beaches with calm waters.

Also, look at Four Seasons, Nevis. 3 on site pools plus access to fishing, hiking (some caves on island but need guide to find them), plenty of water sports. You can fly to San Juan then get connecting flight non-stop to Nevis. Or fly into St. Kitts then take ferry or water taxi to Nevis.

Third, check out Cap Jaluca or Cuisinart on Anguilla. Both have pools and are on long stretches of white sand beaches. No caves but plenty of water sports. Fly into St. Martin then take short 20 minute ferry to Anguilla.

Or you might like Galley Bay or Jumby Bay on Antigua.

Lastly, look at La Samanna on St. Martin. Island has everything you are seeking except caves.

You say culture in your other post so I would agree with the Nevis recommendation above but you certainly need to rent a car so you can find the old plantations, churches etc.
I also think you should consider the bahama out islands like Eleuthera which abound gorgeous beaches that are completely uncrowded. After you get tired of exploring the miles of beaches on eleuthera you can take a 5 min ferry over to Harbour island and explore their truly stunning pink sand beach. There are plenty of houses to rent in any budget. You will need a car to explore. Several good restaurants as well.

Long island in the Bahamas has caves and the deepest blue hole in the world. Once again it comes with some amazing beaches (limited gourmet restaurants though). The out islands are completely safe (people don't unlock doors). It would be a really great way to connect as a family.

Look at The Buccaneer Resort on St Croix.

We loved it for our family of five vacation. Click on my name and you can find two threads with details about our search and why we liked it there. We negotiated three deluxe double rooms, oceanfront, for $300/each. This was in early June two years ago, though.
