Still trying to decide between Frangapani or Cuisinart? I think now it might come down to which beach is quieter?

I see from all your different threads you are really struggling with the decision on where to stay. The thing is you won't notice a significant difference when it comes to which beach is quieter - they are both about equal in that regard. How crowded (or lack of crowds) there may be on any given beach on any given day can vary from being virtually empty to having just a few people to larger groups - too many variables to predict. The thing is, if the area where you are is too "crowded" (I use that term loosely as Anguilla's beaches are rarely "crowded") simple walk a few hundred feet up/down the beach and you'll be alone.

Look at it this way, one beach is not better or quieter than the other, they are just different beaches, and as they say in France - Vive LA Difference!!! Sort of like the difference between Ribeye Steak and New York Strip Steak - they are both great cuts of meat with slightly different flavors.

Truth is, there are no bad beaches on Anguilla and no one says you have to spend all your time on just one beach. Rent a car for some or part of your stay so you can explore as many of the islands 35 beaches as you can.

Don't get too hung up in "is the sand better on the other beach syndrome" - it will only drive you crazy.

Good luck making your choice - you CANNOT GO WRONG with either beach.

This may sound crass but I certainly hope you aren't looking for someone to blame if the resort/beach doesn't meet your expectations. Because that's the way it sounds. The contributors here can only give you general advice based on THEIR experiences which , may or may not coincide with YOURS. None of us can make the decision for you. That's something you'll have to do for yourself since it's YOUR vacation.

Anguilla is a terrific destination and has everything you are seeking. The two resorts you are considering consistently get great reviews and you should be happy at either one. Likewise the beaches where they are located are among the island's best and far surpass many of the beaches you'll find throughout the Caribbean. If worse comes to worse let a coin toss decide for you.

Stop worrying, there is no WRONG DECISION here!

No, not at all!! I would never blame anyone for my decision. All I was trying to convey was that I was just really confused about which to pick and I really hadn't heard any differences between them so that made it even harder to pick. I have looked as much as possible and the only thing I see is that Frangapani looks smaller but maybe a little more populated beach, which kind of lead me to this last question that I was asking. So just know that I wouldn't blame anyone for MY decision Maybe I will just leave it to a coin toss

It this helps....Meads bay is my favorite beach on Anguilla. As someone said they are both great beaches on an island full of fantastic strips of white sand...just my opinion...the blue of the water on Meads bay is Unreal!!!

I've stayed at both and loved both. I've been so bad at making up my mind at many destinations that I've split my stay!

Time of year affects my travel too, for example, my friend on here (maybe shell chime in) has seen Meads Bsy when it's super calm and scrumptious. On the other hand I've always seen it wavy, and love Shoal Bay.

Personally my favorite Beach is the one at Cap Jaluca!

But, you can't go wrong, the worse beach on Anguilla is better than the best beach at other islands-- so above is really just being picky.

And Anguilla is small enough that you can explore all the beaches, I've been known to check out most of the resorts.

Sorry I didn't help!

Both Meads and Rendezvous are uncrowded. Meads is on the Atlantic, Rendezvous (and my favorite, Maundays Bay at Cap Juluca) are on the Caribbean. You get a beautiful view of St Martin and the sunrise from Rendezvous and Maundays, you get the gorgeous sunsets on Mead's. More people watching on Mead's as you can walk from Viceroy to Malliouhana and back. Frangipani has a great restaurant, Straw Hat. Restaurants at Cuisi are just OK. That affects your breakfast decision, there are too many great restaurants to eat at the same place daily. I have seen Meads Bay flat calm and roiling surf. If it's rough on either side, take a ride to the other side of the island there are lots of places where you can rent chairs and umbrellas

You will love it, don't worry! The island is pretty small and it doesn't take too long to drive from one end to the other. I have a feeling you'll be heading up to Geraud's to have coffee and croissants for breakfast, spending the morning on the beach at Rendezvous Bay, and then heading back to Frangipani to have lunch at Straw Hat and spend the afternoon at Mead's Bay.

And if you want to treat yourself to a lovely lunch or sunset followed by dinner at Malliouhana, it's just a nice stroll to the other end of the beach.

Enjoy!!

You made an excellent choice. I like both resorts, but prefer being on Mead's Bay where Frangi is... so many restaurants at different price points and the ability to just walk to many of them. Fangi is a smaller resort, but still pampers and StrawHat restaurant - on site- is excellent.

As noted above, hit Gerauds (VERY early!) for breakfast and some great snacks for the room or sandwiches for the trip home, Blanchard's Beach Shack is also great... Jacala is one of my favorites for lunch or dinner (reserve ahead) and I really like Ocean Echo for lunch - Andrea, their head server is just such a wonderful lady. Lastly, if you want to splurge, have a meal at Malliouhana - per above...very special! I was not impressed with the food at Viceroy, but a drink at the sunset bar, while likely the most expensive cocktail you ever had, is a nice memory.

A short drive is Mangos - very nice as well as Tratoria (which offers beach chairs for their lunch guests who want to make a day of it)...

Best Buy Supermarket is very close... worth it for bottled water and drinks/snacks.. they also have a good selection of toiletries and CVS stuff in case you forget something or run low.

Thanks for the information! I'm wondering if there are good inexpensive places to eat on the island? Any of those kind of suggestions would be great! I have planned this entire trip on my own and my husband doesn't realize the price of food there, so I'm hoping to keep him somewhat happy by telling him of some of the places to eat that are inexpensive
