Are there any upscale resorts in Bonnaire? What are the beaches like? I want to lay on the beach and be pampered and take walks on the beach. My husband wants exciting scuba.

There are no beaches to speak of in Bonaire. What there is of beach is not sand but broken up coral. The scuba is great but you are not going to be able to take long walks on the beach. You will also not find any traditional "upscale" resorts in Bonaire - that is not to say there aren't nice resorts, but the #1 focus there is diving. One of the nicer places is Plaza Resort Bonaire-it's not very close to town however. You should look at www.infobonaire.com
You might be happier looking at Grand Cayman - several upscale properties on 7 Mile Beach and obviously there is a long white beach. However Grand Cayman is still repairing from Hurricane Ivan, but several of the good properties are open.
