Where to stay in Antigua

We are considering a trip to Antigua this winter. We want to use our miles and will only consider a non-stop flight from NYC as this would be a 4 day weekend trip. There are only a few dates we can choose due to our schedules. The only choices that meet this criteria are San Juan, St. Thomas, Bermuda and Antigua. Bermuda is too cool, we are considering San Juan as we really like it but are also considering someplace new and St. Thomas does not sound appealing to me for some reason. So, we are looking at Antigua. I am trying to get a sense of the island and what areas would appeal to us. Our priorities are 1) hotel on the beach around $350 per night, 2) at night we want to walk from our hotel to restaurants and bars. We don't need a lot of night life but a place for drinks after dinner, 3) Someplace under a 30 minute drive from the airport as we want to maximize the few days we have to spend there.

Of course a nice beach is preferred but I am not someone who needs the picture post card perfect beach. I visited Anguilla last year and while I thought it was beautiful, I am just as happy on a beach in St. Martin. To be honest any beach that is warm enough for me to sit on and the water is warm enough to swim in January or February is a good enough beach for me.

If our miles would work out for St. Martin, I would be spending 4 days relaxing on the beach in Grand Case and eating at those wonderful restaurants each night. Anything close to that in Antigua?
