We will be traveling for Carnival 2010. However, come Wednesday morning, we want to leave for an overnight stay somewhere. I have read that maracas beach is close but crowded the day after Carnival ends. How about Blanchisseuse? Does anyone know how far it is from Port of Spain?
Anyone have any other suggestions for a Wed- Thursday night jaunt?
Thanks
Where to go for an overnight in Trinidad?

Hi,
Blanchisseusse is about a 60 to 80 minute drive from Port of Spain. It is a lovely little seaside village, with several guesthouses, villas and a eco resort called alta vista. The beach where the resort is located has a river that runs into the sea and is great for kayaking. The beach is also a nesting site for leatherback turtles. The area is also great for birdwatching and hiking, but you should book soon as a lot of these places go really fast around carnival time.
