Where to book to get the best deal?

We have finally decided to return to Antigua for our 1 year anniversary. We want to return to Sandals because of the 35% off, plus we have a voucher for a free night and signature guest discounts. Where should I book to get the best deal? The first time I booked through a friend who was a TA, but we have lost touch. Can a TA get me the best deal or the web? And should I wait until closer to time (we will be going the first of October) since that will be the low season?? <BR>Thanks in advance!

Don't eliminate the option of going directly through Sandals. As the travel industry is down right now, they may well give you the best deal so they don't have to pay commissions to any middle man.

I booked our latest trip through a travel agent and then later found a much lower price on Expedia for the same exact flight and hotel accomodations. I faxed the quote from the Expedia website to my agent and she matched the price to get the sale. You could try that!

How was your trip? We are also trying to take advantage of the same deal. We went to The Grande on St. Lucia. Our trip was amazing, and we are anxious to visit the Caribbean again. With the first and last nights free, it is hard to pass up. Is there anything we should know before we go? about the resort? the sights? the travel? Any advice at all would be helpful. I've read a few bad reviews that are a bit daunting.
Thanks!!
We're heading out the first of August.

Avid, we had a wonderful vacation and can't wait to return. I read many mixed reviews before I left and this had me worried. Once we were down there all the worries went out the door.

The room was comfortable and kept incredibly clean. The beach was great with powder-like sand and very calm water. It was also deep and long and we never felt crowded (the resort was at 80%). The food was good, and though we had some meals that stood out more than others, none were just spectacular. I think we enjoyed the watersports the most. We are big beach people and it was nice to have access to the equipment anytime we wanted.

The property is very nice, lush and tropical. It's big, but not so big you can't walk from one end to the other easily. There are 5 pools/whirlpools and a spa. Each block of rooms pretty much has it's own pool. The resort has a real laid back feel to it.

If you enjoyed Sandals the first visit, I know you would enjoy SA.
