Where should we stay in Bermuda?

I've stayed at the SouthHampton Princess a few times. I've also stayed at the Sonesta, Pink Beach Cottages, and Ariel Sands. I like the Southampton Princess the best although all of the above properties are quite different and have their own great points. Southampton Princess is definitely a big hotel and has that feel about it (as does the Sonesta). The beach club at the Southampton Princess is very nice. The restaurants are wonderful, especially the Waterlot Inn and the Newport Room. I would recommend these restaurants no matter where you stayed. It's nice to have the ferry available to take you into Hamilton. And you can also have an excellent dinner over at the Hamilton Princess in the Tiara Room. At least the last time we went there (2 years ago) there was a fun comedian/singer at the Southampton Princess (Jimmy something). He'd been there for a long time but is very entertaining. You can rent a moped right at the hotel although it is very easy to rent these at any hotel. Hope you enjoy--it's a wonderful island.

Hi Debbie, The Southampton Princess and Elbow Beach Hotel are the only BIG 5 star hotels on the island. They both have excellent beaches, multiple restaurants, tennis, pools, ability to rent mopeds, etc... Both have easy access to the bus (which are excellent in Bermuda). Both very expensive - you pay for what you want. Not sure about meal plan?
Ariel Sands is also very nice. More like a cottage colony then a BIG hotel. As it is very posh, I would guess that Ariel Sands is also quite expensive.
Any of the above three hotels will not disappoint you.
Jane, FYI, the comedian in question is named Jimmy Keys. He still entertains but he now works out of The Surf Club (on Front Street in Hamilton).
Good luck.
