Where are the Most Beautiful Beaches in St. Lucia...for my soon to be husband who won't let me book Cap Juluca in Anguilla ...or T&V

My other half is determined to go to St. Lucia.
For work, I often have to find beautiful places for couples. We've stayed at Cap Juluca and loved it. I'd try T&C.

We are real beach people and love the white sand and turqoise water, the luxury resorts steps from the water and romance you can find in Anguilla. I just don't think we'll find it in St. Lucia.

He seems to think the beaches will be the same. I don't. Same for the resorts.

Will someone please prove me wrong and tell me where to stay.

We'd really like to have a private beach dinner. Easy in Anguilla. I haven't seen anywhere you can do this in St. Lucia.

It's a honeymoon type trip for us.

Okay, I'm done rambling.

Thanks for any ideas.

are you saying you can't do Cap juluca b/c of the price.

We are staying at www.ku-anguilla.com in July. Not Cap, but who cares when you are on a great beach.

you def. will not find white sand beach in St. Lucia but you will in Anguilla.

No, the beaches on St. Lucia are very so-so. It is a volcanic island, so you don't get white sand, plus the bottom drops off quickly, so only dark water is seen. For beach people, look at Caneel Bay on St.John. Incredibly romantic, with 171 rooms scattered around 170 acres in the National Park on SEVEN tree-shaded white sand beaches and wade-in snorkeling. Paradise on earth for beach lovers.
No more than 24 rooms on any beach. Grounds are so extensive with great views, you can nearly get lost.

Caribfan: There's a Fodorite who recently came back from St. Lucia and posted the link to her webpage with lots of pictures of St. Lucia. By looking at her pics and her trip report, you and especially your husband will get a good sense of what St. Lucia offers.
Her screenname is "velodurt". Her webpage is www.nbhtravel.com
I have not been to Anguilla. I have been to St. Lucia and the beaches there are definitely NOT white sand and turquoise water.

Sorry to put a damper on your trip, but if you are truly beach people in terms of what you find at Anguilla or T&C, you will be disappointed to say the least. The beaches in St. Lucia are nice with spectacular views and landscapes, but the sand is like brown sugar and the water, albeit pretty, is not comparable to Anguilla by any means. I loved St. Lucia and want to return, but would hate for any poster to set themselves up for disappointment if they are expecting it to look like Anguilla or T&C.

While it is not St Lucia, if you come about 40 miles south to St Vincent and the Grenadines you will get romantic small resorts and great beaches. Resorts to look at:
PSV
Raffles
Cotton House
Young Isand
Salt Whistle

We went to St. Lucia this past November. We stayed at the Sandals Grande. The beach there was nice like the color of brown sugar. On one of our excursions we were taken to a black sand beach. St. Lucia has wonderful banana plantations, lots of folige and waterfalls. It's not for beach lovers, but excellant for nature lovers. Reminded us a lot of Hawaii. We are headed to T & C in May.

Here's the link to our pics if interested:

Thanks so much to everyone for their replies.
JVrab- the reason for my other half not wanting to go to Cap, is because we've been there. We loved it, but he wanted to try somewhere we haven't been.
I'm going to look into the Grenadines and St. John. Thanks again, everyone.

I've heard that Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos is beautiful... and a really good "honeymoon" spot. My boss went and said the beaches were gorgeous. The only thing is that it's a bit isolated.
