what should I be paying for cab from the airport to St Lawrence Gap?
Hi all... my research tells me no meters on Bajan cabs and to agree the fare before. So what should I be paying - I am taking Bajan $ and US $. Will also have ££ too. Going to Coral Sands from the airport on Sat afternoon. wooo hooo can't wait...!! my first visit to the island. What can be so bad - sun, rum cocktails, partying on down...

Thanks for your reply greenie. Just topping to let you know it was US$15 - and for info for anyone else coming into the airport, there's a board up by the taxi rank that lists the prices that you should be paying to different towns and resorts etc.

Trip was great fun, thanks. Good place to party. Also a bit of sightseeing - can recommend Island Tours for a day out. Buses are a brilliant way to get round too. Felt safe the whole time there, no problems. I went with a girlfriend and I wondered if we'd be pestered by beach boys and people flogging stuff etc but a quick chat, and then a "nice meeting you, bye now", sent them on their way. Coral Sands is great, can definitely recommend for anyone going to the Gap. Very well run, helpful staff. Only downer was no music channel on the tv but that's a minor quibble. We had to sing while getting ready for the evening... Its just the right distance, no noise at night, and just a five minute walk into the Gap. Spotted some other places I had researched that were right on the Gap and thank goodness I never booked them! I like to go out at night but when I'm ready to sleep I like it quiet!
So had a fab time all in all. Not sure I really got the "wow" factor that I was expecting but the only other Caribbean island I have been to is Cuba, which has such a distinct personality of its own, for obvious reasons, that I havent really got any other island to compare it to.
