I am wondering if anyone has recommendations of caribbean islands for a solo female traveler who only wants to lay around on a beach on some days, other days go hiking in rainforests, maybe some kayaking. No wild nightlife but a few drinks during some afternoons. Would prefer the more quiet islands as opposed to the commercialized.
Thanks !

i think you should look at st. john or in bvis - tortola or virgin gorda. what's your budget and when do you want to go?
i agree that st. john (USVI) as suggested fits. i don't know the other islands you mention. i've traveled solo to jamaica but i think it's probably busier than what you seek.
I went to the El Conquistador in PR a few years back with my husband. Thought that it would be a good place to go on my own. YOu wouldn't have to leave the property as there are different restaurants and pools.. but you could book a trip to the rainforest if you wanted to do that.
....Marriott on St Kitts would be one to consider as well.

Have you checked into Jost Van Dyke, BVI. It's next to Tortola and is wonderful, quiet, safe and beautiful beyond belief! www.jostvandyke.com has a lot of information about the Island. Check it out.
