Has anybody been to both of these properties? Which property is nicer in your opinion? Which swimming pool is nicer/more tropical? THANKS.

Both are great hotels, St John is spread out kind of villa style while Cayman is your hotel style layout. We went to St John on our honeymoon 10 yr ago & Cayman about 6 or 7 yr ago.If I remember the pool at Cayman is pretty nice. You cannot go wrong with either! Snorkling right off bch at Cayman.
I have not been to St. John yet. but I can tell you the Westin in Cayman is really pretty. The beach is amazing. Its a gorgeous strecth of 7MB. In my research the only complaint I have read about the Westin St. John is that the beach isnt that nice as other beaches on the island. That concerned me enough and I read it enough times not to book there.
The pool in Cayman is great too, very spacious.
I am sorry I cant comment on both. My idea of the Westin St. John was that the resort is very spread out, the beach isnt the best on the island, but overall its a nice hotel. Westin Cayman is the best hotel on the island (also debatable) (I prefer the Hyatt), the beach is glorious, the snorkeling right off the beach is great.
hope this helped some
