Weekly Rental for 10-12 in early Mar. in Caribbean?

We are looking for suggestions on where to go for a week in late Feb/early March. There are going to be 10-12 of us, in our mid-late 20's, and we are looking for a condo, villa, or home to rent. I know that many places will already be spoken for, but hopefully, we'll be able to find something.

Any suggestion on a great place to go or a website to find a rental? We're looking for a place that will sleep 10 for under $5000/wk. We aren't looking for a "spring break-like" destination (i.e. Nassau or Cancun) as we're all just looking for a place to spend hours on the beach relaxing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Check VRBO.com. Villas to rent by the owners. Also look at wimco.com another villa sight. Not sure where you're flying from but that might make a difference. Getting to some of the Caribbean islands can be a long, drawn out affair. More info might help me to suggest some other possibilities.

caribbean villas can get very expensive, especially when you need so many brs. often a car is required as well. however you can save alot of money by eating some/all meals at home. not to mention the savings on booze on your patio vs. the bars.
look at this page from locogringo if you would consider the area south of cancun. i see a couple houses that might work for you. or you could try for 2 houses very close on the same beach.
if you email lg with your requirements (how many brs?, pool?, in a specific area?, oceanfront vs. beachfront, price range) they will send you a list of avail properties right away. i have used this service and it worked out extremely well! http://www.locogringo.com/dynamic/villas.cfm
most of these places come with a couple who do yard/pool/beach work and daily housekeeping and normally live on site in tiny casa. we also had a night watchman. at our house, well where we stayed - casa cavu, the husband was also available as chef (for fee) and he was really good.
all the houses they offer are within easy drive of playa del carman for those who wish to shop or enjoy a few hours in the faster lane. (not like coz or cancun!)
there are loads of activities in the area. cenotes & caves, atvs into jungle, ruins, 2 eco-water parks, zip line, golf, etc.

We have a number of off-the-beaten track villas in Jamaica that might suit. See http://www.jamaicaescapes.com
for Blue Marlin/Coquina rented together, Sandy Rose and Unforgettable, all in Treasure Beach on the South Coast.

There are many homes or villas available for rent for rent in Dominican Republic and the entire Caribbean. As was said before they can be expensive but if there is a group of people going this may be the way to go. Here is a little information about houses and villas available.
