My fiancé and I just got engaged this year at Sandals Negril - Jamaica. We loved the all-inclusive thing and all of the watersports (particularily the hobbie cats). We've set a date for February 3rd 2006 for our wedding. Hoping to have it in Grenada...any advice on all-inclusive hotels there or Grenada in general?

Grenada is still recovering from the huricane devastation last year but all should be well by the time of your wedding. We've visited there many times but have never stayed at an AI. You can get really up to date information on grenadaexplorer.com. The moderators live there and can answer all your questions. Enjoy your wedding!

Hi Dezzy,
I would highly recommend a fairly new luxury resort called Bel Air Plantation. I stayed there this year during the month of February. More than 4 couples were staying there during my 5 week visit who were celebrating their weddings and honeymoons.
The honeymooners said they contacted the owner Susan Fisher by telephone or email: belair@caribsurf.com and very good special rates were worked out for them. They were staying all inclusive and said they found out by talking with the management that they could afford to stay at this beautiful, romantic resort. There are 11 villas and cottages sitting on a pretty hillside overlooking St. David's Harbour. The restaurant has been voted the best new restaurant in the Caribbean by a major travel magazine.
I suggest you take a look at their website and email or call Susan. She is very laid back, friendly, and an excellent manager. The web site has lots of info: www.belairplantation.com
Hope your wedding takes place there. I think it's the perfect location for a wedding and honeymoon in Grenada.

I actually live in Grenada and would have to say that staying at La Sagesse hotel (you would have to rent a car to get there but the same would apply for Bel Air) would be a terribly romantic choice. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the cabins which has a king sized bed and no air-conditioning (this though is not a problem in during the day but I thought I should mention that) but had incredible charm. The walls were actually just screens over wooden slats and since it was very secluded it was like making love outdoors. The restuarant is very nice and though they don't do AI they do MAP. The rooms range from 100-150 so it is very reasonable. Honestly the best deal you'll find in Grenada. You can also go see kayaking for free which we took full advantage of. There is also La Luna which is terribly romantic as well but also more costly though they do a honeymoon package. The rooms run 450 a night and they do MAP as well. The restaurant there is exceptional (the best on the island). If you have any other questions feel free to email me at nmgastea@yahoo.com. It really is a beautiful island. Hope this has helped.
