Any idea where I could get reasonably helpful maps of islands such as St. Martin, Anguilla, St. John, St. Thomas, Provo in T&C, etc.? I'd like to pick out hotels that appear to be near the area's shops and restaurants. Not looking for something detailed, just a general idea what's in walking distance or close by.

Caribmart ( http://www.caribmart.com/maps.html ) is an excellent source for hard copy maps. For your purpose you should be able to find something on-line or pick-up a Fodor's Caribbean guide book.
