Volcanoes, Rainforest, and Beaches

My family and I , my DH , my 20 year old daughter and my 2 - 16 y.o. twin girls are looking to go to the Carribean for the first time. We are wanting to see a rainforest, maybe one of the volcanoes , but by all means the beach and some good snorkeling. What island can give us all of this. Can anybody help?
Sharon, a native Floridian, gone New Yorker!

It would help to know time of year, how long the stay is, and budget. Most people would say that you can't get your entire wish list on one island. Rainforest and volcanic islands tend to have darker sand beaches and worse snorkeling.

You might start by looking into St Lucia, St. John, Vieques, Virgin Gorda, Nevis, and Grenada.

Ty! Going in August. We're only going for 7 days. May better stick with snorkeling and beaching it then and do the forests and volcanoes later. Thanks so much for your time!

What a huge help. Thank you for taking the time to help us. I can't wait to go back to the Carribean. It's been 25 years and I have never been to any of the islands you mentioned. I so appreciate your suggestions! Take car. Have a good Summer!
Gratefully, Sharon

You can get your entire wishlist in Guadeloupe and Martinique. Both islands have volcanoes, in fact Saint Pierre in Martinique is a mini Pompeii, very interesting to walk around. Les Salines beach is picture postcard perfect. One of the best rainforests is in Guadeloupe, it also has some fabulous white sand beaches and is famous for snorkelling, diving etc (Jacques Cousteau centre).

I can't believe how generous all of you are with so much information. Thank you so much. I am having a blast learning about all these places. I hope to retire one day on the islands so this infor is more than beneficial!
Thanks, Sharon
