Visiting Bermuda on a cruise will be stationary for 3 days in Kings Wharf

You are in luck. Bermuda has an excellent public transportation system and you will have a choice of buses and ferries for your travels. Buy a transportation pass when you arrive (there's a booth where you debark from the ship) and they will provide you with schedules and routes.

The best beaches are on the South shore of Bermuda, but they are very popular with cruisers. Pick up a map of the Bermuda railway trail for some marvelous walks. If you are feeling bold, consider a scooter rental. While very definitely not for everyone, if you are comfortable on one it gives you ultimate freedom during your visit.

Hi. Because cruise passengers typically go to Horseshoe Beach, you might do better and find fewer crowds if you stay on the bus a few minutes longer and go to Warwick Long Bay.

Hamilton is about a thirty minute ferry ride from Kings Wharf.

I appreciate that you are coming here to get the opinions of posters who have been to Bermuda, and I applaud that. But might I suggest you do a little independent research, perhaps buying a guidebook to find out a little more about the destination on your own? Then the recommendations that people make would mean more to you. If you don't want to invest in a guidebook, then go to your local library and check one out and read through it. If you are investing several hundred dollars in a Bermuda cruise, I think it's worth your while to know a bit about the place you're going to be visiting.

I know, for example, that every single question you have asked here is answered in every published guide to Bermuda, including our own. And you might find out what interests you about the island this way. You might also find that what interests you is different from what the posters here recommend.

Thanks for that Doug - I have been holding back on replying to this thread because of that - I just want to say - please do some basic research and then, if you still have questions, come back and be specific. I have posted answers to the whole "I'm cruising to Bermuda -what should I do" thread SEVERAL times - even a search of this forum would yield a wealth of info, if OP didn't want to get a guidebook.

You might also want to review the Bermuda Tourism website. Alot of good information here and then come back and ask questions about specifics areas which interest you.

The summer ferry schedule is now available and will give you an idea on water transportation from the Dockyard (King's Wharf is located at the Dockyard). Pay particular attention to the Blue route and the Orange route...both service Dockyard.

txgirlinbda, Doug S and cmcfong offer the best Bermuda advice. I myself am preparing for our 15th visit to the island. 9 nights in June - can't wait. There is alot to see and you will love it!

Well as far as I'm concerned this site is exactly the place to find information, to ask questions and to do independant research. Thank you to those who took the time to help out. As far as other suggestions both rude and ridiculous no thanks. Buying a Guidebook is not a problem nor is investing in one financially. My choice is to do exactly what I did.
