Villas at Jalousie Hilton

Are the villas at the Jalousie Hilton on the beach? I know that some of them have ocean views and some have mountain views, but are the ones with ocean views on the beach or up on a hill?

All of the villas are up on the hills, not directly on the beach. I would save the money and opt for the mountain view villa. The ocean view villas were to close to the helicopter landing pad and with so many trees you hardly saw the ocean any way.

True, no rooms are on the beach. They offer the Sugar Mill suites (or some name like that) closer to the hotel's facilities, but definitely skip 'em.

Ocean view villas are not just near the base of the mountain near the helipad. Some are farther up the hillside. The ocean view designation versus mountainview desgination depends on the orientation of the villas and which direction they face, not how far up or down the hill they are.

The best views are definitely higher up, but I agree with previous poster in that in this case, I don't think the ocean view villas are better than mountain view. And by virtue of the proximity of the Pitons, all of the villas have mountain views. And because of the dense foliage (that makes your private plunge pool truly private!), not even the ocean views have great views of the ocea.

We had an ocean view villa fairly high up the hillside. There was a view of the ocean, but it was really just a slice of the ocean down below. It was nice to see the water even in that limited way, but I don't think it would be worth paying extra for. The views are grand there anyway. (our villa was not near the helicopter pad either). Anyway, it's a great place to stay, we loved it.

Mountain view villas are the best at Jalousie? Do any have 2 bedrooms?

Don't know about 2 bedrooms, but ours had a living room that had a queensize pull out couch.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with the different bed styles in various room types. Have seen pictures of dark wood four poster beds. We have a mountain view villa booked, and are hoping for that bed type. Anyone know anything about this?
