Turks Caicos grace bay vs Long Bay or chalk sound?

Greetings!
I hope to finally return to TCI with 2 kids age 8 and my hubby. We are on a budget ~2k for the week 2/10/15-2/17/15. We are looking for a low key beach vac a (obviously) but able to walk to a beach bar/restaurant for drinks and fresh seafood!! We don't mind being a block away from a beach, in a condo, or VRBO and cooking at home, as long as there are those conveniences. I know Grace bay has them but are all pricier than I had hoped. I'm not familiar with Long Bay or Chalk sound areas and would love input on the "conveniences" that we are looking for? I'm worried they might be too secluded for us? We will be renting a car part of the time too if that helps!
Thank you!
Peace,
Jess

Long Bay good for kite boarding
Chalk Sound great for views

In Feb most places are already rented (it's been. Busy pek seson) so finding anything for $2000 is impossible

Nothing will be walking distance to restaurants or anything at LB or CS

If there are rooms left, the nicest in your budget would be Atrium Resort (3 blocks to beach but have loungers, walk to cafe/deli market) or Inn at Grace Bay (in the middle of hub). There might be a unit on vrbo at Ocean Club

Everything else is either rented or out of the way, the villas I checked are pretty much rented that week.

if you choose long bay beach of chalk sound area you will need your rental car for the whole time. you really can't walk to anything from most of the houses in either area.
agree with blamona a condo on grace bay is your best bet

Grace Bay is really the best option. IMHO Chalk Sound is crummy and Long Bay is too far away. Check out the Atlantic Ocean Beach Villas... they have bikes you can use and you can easily walk to the marina area and there are a few nice places to eat along the way. They also rent vans by the day. Donna

I doubt you'll find anything on Grace Bay in mid Feb for $2000. T&C is very expensive, and that's the height of peak season.

I would not recommend staying on Chalk Sound or Long Bay. They're both too far from most of the restaurants/grocery store.
