Blamona or another expert,
Are any changes/expansions expected to the PLS airport before Nov 2014?
Most have no choice but to fly Sat/Sat which I know is the worst day.
Do we need to arrive three hours ahead on the return?

Last time I flew through I was able to avoid Saturday but this time I can't bc of school.
For the few that can avoid it, is Friday much better?
What about Sunday following Thanksgiving? Maybe that would be worse than departing Saturday due to holiday.

Finally given the choice of Charlotte or Miami where would you connect?
I've always done Miami bc if you miss flights there is always the another one but
with only a one hour layover in each maybe Charlotte will be easier as its smaller with all the kids?

I say minimum 3 hours
Thanksgiving week is crazy no matter what day of the week, especially your connections busiest time of year to travel in States
Charlotte by a long shot--- I have too many nightmare stories of Miami
I've had tight connections in Charlotte and always made it, great little airport

Agree with Blamona- the weekend following Thanksgiving is going to be nuts either day.

Have you heard about the VIP Flyers Club in Provo? Two levels of service: Curbside pickup and expedited through all security lines into the main terminal; or same as above but taken to a private lounge to wait for your flight.

VIP Club can be expensive if you opt for the full service, but we used it last year for my MIL, and it was worth every penny for her to avoid the way overcrowded main terminal.

On the return home from Turks,
Is 1 hour, 40 minutes a doable connect with customs and five with luggage through Charlotte before final US destination. I know forget it in Miami.
To note the return would be Saturday following thanksgiving.

Any chance you've got Global Entry? If not, I think you have a 50/50 chance of making it through in time.
