Hi.
Has anyone had first hand experience with the True Blue Bay resort? My husband and I are looking for a relaxed location to vacation in September (I know its the rainy season...). He'd be happy anywhere there is sun and a pool. I need a bit more activity to break things up every now and then(e.g., kayaks, swimming in the ocean, snorkelling, wandering around). The resort looks great, but I'm a little concerned about the seemingly remote location. Would love to hear from anyone who has been there regarding distances to restaurants and "proper" beaches. As we're not planning on having a car for our entire stay (14 days), what will taxis cost us? Finally, if anyone has recommendations for day trips/tour guides, that would be great too!
Thanks!

Your best bet for information is grenadaexplorer.com. We stayed at True Blue, but enough years ago that our experience doesn't apply to the current status. The restaurant is still one of the best though. It is not really remote, but you do need a car or taxi to get anywhere. Since we have never been to Granada without a car I can't comment on taxi costs, but there are a lot of drivers who will provide good service including island tours.
The True Blue Bay resort is not particularly remote but you would need a car or taxis to get you round. The resort is about 5 mins drive from Grand Anse beach and 10 mins from St. George.
Aquanauts are based within the resort offering snorkelling trips and there is also a yacht company based on the site.
Kayaking is available (spicekayaking.com)for half day trips to Hog Island.
There are many tour operators including Mandoo and Caribbean Horizons who can offer organised trips to suit.
Another excellent site with upto date info on Grenada is definitivecaribbean.com
Some of the places I have found most interesting to visit are dougaldston estate, the nutmeg processing stations and the rivers rum distillery.
Is True Blue on the beach and if so, is it a good beach?
