Trouble booking hotels!

I'm trying to book a few hotel rooms for our family the week after Christmas. Is there a website I should be using? I am trying from the individual hotel websites but everyone comes back no rooms available! I have tried so many all with the same result. Could every hotel be fully booked this far out?

what hotels are you interested in? Most of the major hotels work with tour operators and are fully booked all year with few rooms for individuals. You might give Cuba Travel Network a call...they have a usa location and ask them about the hotels. You might come to the same conclusion based on hotel reviews and personal experiences and prices that a good casa is a better experience. Most of the hotels are government owned or at least partially gov. owned and service level is not on a par that you would expect for the price.

Look at FAQ #20 here for a list of agencies to book casas and hotels:

Note that casas particulares can be a room in someone's house, but also rooms with a separate entrance or floor, or an entire apartment.

They are unlikely to be sold out, they are probably not for sale yet. Typical website response is no rooms available.

when i first started looking for our trip in Jan. and did it maybe 2 months in advance they were all sold out...with all the tour signs in the lobbies clear they cater to large groups/conventions etc. so yes some are really sold out.
