Hi Vijay,
Feel free to email me directly and I can email you some general info. on Grand Bahama Island, things to do, dining, etc.
Depending on where you are staying, you can use the public bus (runs from 7am-7pm) - $1.00 per ride.
After 7pm, you would have to depend on taxis or a car rental.
Port Lucaya Marketplace is in the Lucaya area....on the marina waterfront with several restaurants, shops, a small straw market, and usually some live entertainment in the evenings in the main center square. Some reasonably priced restaurants in Port Lucaya Marketplace are Zorba's, Giovanni's, Pisces, Pub at Port Lucaya, etc.
More expensive would be Ferry House Restaurant and Luciano's.
In the area of the International Bazaar and Royal Oasis Resort & Casino, some restaurants you might want to try would be Ruby Swiss, Paradiso, Zorba's II, etc.
Regarding things to do, you may want to try some reef fishing, the Garden of the Groves, a night at the Royal Oasis Casino, the Goombaya dinner buffet and show at the Palm Pavilion of the Holiday Inn Sunspree of the Royal Oasis Resort & Casino, a lunch at Club Caribe (located on a beach - they'll come and pick you up and drive you back to your hotel if you will eat and drink there.
Regarding beaches, you might want to visit Lucaya Beach and Taino Beach.
Gold Rock Beach is breathtaking but you need to have a car rental to get there or to go with an organized tour.
As I mentioned, feel free to email me since it would take too long to write everything here.
I hope you will have a pleasant vacation.
best regards
Carrie
