Transfer recommendations from San Juan airport?
Can anyone recommend a reliable transfer service from San Juan airport to Rio del Mar Resort? There are five of us plus luggage.
We would also like to rent a car once we get to the resort, but would rather not go through the hotel. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

There are no car rental places in Rio Grande. Rent your car at the airport and drive yourself to the resort. It's an easy drive (Route 26E to 66E to 3E). Probably less expensive renting at the airport versus the resort, too.
The cost of the car for the extra day will cost less than one-way taxi fare, which will be about $65 plus charges for luggage.

Thanks for the info, RayInPR!
I don't want to rent a huge car or van to get us out to Rio Mar. There are five of us plus the luggage. We really only need a car once we get there for sightseeing and restaurants. I think there's an AVIS at the Rio del Mar, but I was hoping to find a more reasonable rental place outside the resort. Oh well.... Thanks again!

I would really think about transportation from the airport. As RaylnPR mentioned it is over $50.00 per person to be taken to the Rio Mar if you perhaps place a bid on priceline or go to hotwire you could get some really good rates, am not sure when you are going but if you give me your dates I can check for you I just got back on Monday night, we rented a mid size car through Hotwire for 5 days and paid $83.00 including taxes, we stayed at the Gran Melia (it’s about 10 minutes before Rio Mar) and there they charge $35.00 or $39.00 for transportation per person. Renting at the hotels will always be a lot more expensive. Hope this helps and let me know if you want some help.
