Transfer from the airport in T&C?

Do we need to arrange a transfer for next week or are there plenty of taxis available at the airport? Also- what should it cost roughly for a transfer to The West Bay Club? Thank you!

There's always plenty of taxis waiting at the airport.

Staying at WBC you really need a car for the better restaurants, shopping and supermarket anyway, plus you can explore beautiful Chalk Sound (the most gorgeous turquoise you'll ever see) plus other excellent different beaches such as Pelican, Sapadilla and Taylor.

For the cost of a round trip taxi ride you have unlimited car. Check out Avis or Grace Bay Car Rental.

WBC is stunning, but it is removed from the hub. During the day it's okay to walk around, impersonally would not walk far from the property at night, it's miles (5) to better restaurants and you would have to pass some really dark uncomfortable areas.

Grace Bay is 12 miles long! So while every thing is "connected" you're really need a car. Not only does it save you money in the long run, but taxi takes forever to show up, and you have to depend on the restaurants or resorts to call for you unless you have your own phone (local) as to whatever phone you bring with you will cost in roaming a lot more than the car rental.

Grace bay car rentals actually gives you a free loaner phone to use while on island, so not only are you saving transportation, you're saving phone bills too!

Thank you very much for the replies, everyone. Blamona, I will look into renting a car. I'm beginning to wish I had booked a hotel closer to the center of town, so that we could walk more places. But I thought I had heard that the beach wasn't as nice there? Anyway, many thanks!

The entire beach is beautiful..."beach wasn't as nice" WHAT? ...that is wrong. The area from Point Grace to the Alexandra is actually our favorite area. ( we love the Regent Palms & The Somerset resorts) West Bay Club is on a nice section but, is furter west than the "hub"

Just at Caribzack said above----wrong, wrong, wrong! All of Grace Bay beach is one of the best we've stayed on in 20+ islands. Whoever told you that simply could not have been on Grace Bay! The area of beach at Grace Bay Club, Ocean Club West, & Seven Stars is our favorite. It's not the center of town, but you can (and we do) walk to many restaurants, etc.

Thanks for clearing that up! Now I'm regretting not booking closer to the center of town. Will have to do that on the next visit...

Weadles, the entire beach is gorgeous.
West Bay Club is awesome!

FYI, there is no town! Grace Bay Road has some small shopping strips and a couple of restaurants, but no one resort is close to all the great restaurants and shops, everything is in clumps, and I would recommend a car regardless. Plus, the beach being gorgeous everywhere, it just has different personalities.

Again, I can not stress enough how gorgeous WBC is, you made a terrific choice.
