Tortola Tips
I think we've decided on Tortola for our vacation in January, due to it's snorkeling and beautiful beaches. Any advice on nice hotels or places to stay without breaking the bank?

I was researching accomodations on Tortola for a while and many of them are inexpensive but basic. I liked the looks of Mongoose Apartments. Although not directly on the beach, I've read consistently good reviews. Also, Myetts, Rhymers, and Ole Works Inn. Another one that stands out with good reviews is Lighthouse Villas. Or you can have a look at Purple Pineapple Villas if that might be a better option for you http://208.122.2.233/. For a little more upscale, there is Long Bay Resort. I think that is the name, it is where the Sugar Mill Restaurant is.

Some of those sure look great! Every time I'm ready to settle I get doubts.. I'm still in a toss up between the USVI's and the BVI's.. great beach, snorkeling, hot weather, shopping, and restaurants all close to each other.. which one would be the best bet?

We stayed at Coconut Point when we went to Tortola. It was no frills but very convenient (Carrot Bay) and cheap. I think we paid $700 for the week. We rented a car and drove everywhere.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and many lunches at Long Bay and many breaksfasts and dinners at Sebastians. Coco Plums and Palms Delight was right down the street and we ate there some too.
We didnt have beach access, but you could go down the street and use Sugar Mill or Sebastians beach.
Peace

Yep...single digits! Exactly 7 days from Saturday we'll have our toes in the sand and a Red Stripe in hand! Lots to do in preparation, however! I'll give a report "live" from Negril in a couple of weeks!

We stayed at Cane Garden Bay Cottages (obviously on Cane Garden Bay) they are managed by Myetts, but I think have their own website. We absolutely loved it. Save a few dollars and have an incredible dinner at Brandywine.
