We are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Tobago right on the beach. We don't need a fancy hotel, just a clean one with an ocean view. Does any one know how much a car or scooter costs to rent?
We love to dive, snorkle and swim, and would prefer to be on a beach where the water is calm all of time. We would really appreciate
any suggestions. We will arrive in Tobago in Feb 98.

We stayed at the Blue Waters Inn in Speyside last December. The hotel is not fancy but as close to the water as you can get.The rooms are large and airy with the beach about ten feet away ,all rooms face the sea.Swimming here was great because the golden sand beach (about 1000 feet of it) is in a sheltered bay. There is good snorkelling close by.The hotel is in the norhern part of Tobago which is almost all rainforest and absolutely beautiful. There are 30 acres of hotel property with trails to wander and many birds. We paid $80 a night, tax included, off season,I believe it is $130 after dec.15.Feel free to e-mail me for more info.Dave&Jane
Just returned from Tobago, which was the most beautiful island we have visited in the Carribbean. We stayed at Belleviste Apts. in Crown Point. They are within walking distance of the airport ( although you will need a taxi if carrying luggage) and about a 5-10 min. walk from Store Bay, which has a lovely beach. I would definitely recommend staying in the Crown Point area because the drive to Speyside is on narrow, winding roads. It is definitely worth the drive up there, but it seemed that most of the activity is in the Crown Point area of the island. We paid about $66.00 US per day and had a fully equipped kitchen, living area with satellite TV, large bedroom with queen bed, bath with shower, and large balcony. Although the hotel is not "right on the beach", you do have a view of the ocean and they have a nice pool. They are very accomodating. You can contact them a belleviste@trinidad.net. Good luck - I know you will have a wonderful vacation on this beautiful island.
