Tobago CAR Rental
Hi There:
I should be in Tobago in Dec 2003, I've done some web searches and it seems the average price of a econonmy car is 40USD/day/unlimited mileage.
Anyone ever rented a car for less and if so who/where did you book it, I know there is a lot of info online, but sometimes word of mouth helps!
Gracias!

Hi,
rented a car from Econo Car opposite the airport and Spence for $225.00 TT and $250.00 TT respectively which works out to $35.00 and $40.00 US aproximately. (1 US = 6.3 TT). I think these rates are great since we paid 95.00 US for a jeep in Barbados and a rental car in St.Lucia cost us 81.00 US a day!

I've used Shermans Rentals in the past and found them to be reliable. They have a range of rental vehicles. Check out their website: http://www.shermansrental.com/

If you buy insurance for your rental car, make sure to read the policy. It can differ quite a bit from what I'm used to in the U.S. We were going to rent from one local firm, when my husband noticed that the insurance doesn't cover you if you're in an accident for which you are at fault. (The guy said, "Otherwise, you wouldn't have any reason to avoid an accident." We've tended to go with Thrifty because we're familiar with its U.S. type insurance policy. We have credit card coverage, but we always figure it's good to have extra coverage in a foreign country.
