Hi,
My husband and I have done quite a bit of traveling to the Caribbean and Central America. I have seen a couple postings about Tobago - that it is not all that it's cracked up to be! Can anyone who's been there make a comparison to Tortola or Jost Van Dyke in the BVIs? We adore Jost Van Dyke and would like to hear how it compares. We like simple, but good quality hotels or villas, good food, etc. Thanks in advance for any help out there!

I have not been to Jost van Dyke butI have been to Tortola and Tobago.
Both are nice islands.
The beaches in Tortola are better than Tobago, but I think Tobago is a prettier island. More mountains and more lush.
I think Tortola has more amenities although there are some very nice small hotels in Tobago.
We enjoyed the food in Tobago but it is simple local cooking for the most part.
We stayed in a fantastic small charming hotel while in the Crown Point area

I highly recommend it.
the bototm line is we love both islands.
Tobago is harder to get to though..
It's my understanding that Delta will start flying to Port O Spain on Mon-Wed-Sat-Sun starting in December. This should help connections to Tobago.
