The Caves or LaLuna?
We were leaning towards The Caves since it seemed like such an interesting place easily accessible from NYC. But there are so many great reviews of Grenada in general that I am second guessing. There isn't that much info on Grenada out there I didn't know much about it but reading these reviews it seems to be everyone's suggestion. Anybody out there that has been to both resorts by any chance? Thanks!

Not to make this more confusing, but we looked at both LaLuna and The Caves for our trip in Late July. La Luna looks amazing and it's definitly at the top of my list for a future trip, but getting there was a bit more trouble than we were looking for this time around. The Caves were out for us only because of the lack of A/C in the rooms and being the time of year we're going, I didn't want to chance it. We ended up choosing Moondance Villas in Negril. We get an entire gorgeous villa right on the beach with a full staff (private chef, bartender, housekeeper) all to ourselves. In hindsight, if we were to stay on the cliffs in the future, I think I'd try Rockhouse before the Caves, simply because I think there will be more activity there and it's a little less isolated than the caves. But you should definitly check out Moondance villas, it's top notch! www.moondancevillas.com

Thanks for responding! At first I was so glad to find this posting site since it is super informative, but it HAS made me a bit crazy with options. I actually just looked into MoonDance this morning since it has gotten some great reviews. I am a little nervous about the no A/C thing- that is our only hesitation. Laluna is harder to get to I agree since there are only limited direct flights and it is pricey- although it is below the hurricane belt. Which house did you stay in? The one bedroom seems further from the beach so I was wondering if it was worth it. Final thought/question- how long did you stay there and was it a bit strange to have staff with you that way? I think it sounds a bit uncomfortable? Thanks!

Just got back from Negril. Stayed half the trip on the beach and half at the Rockhouse. If you are looking for action, take the beach location. I prefer a little quiet for relaxing and didn't find it on the beach...too many jet skiis. The Rockhouse on the other hand was bliss. Not a lot going on there...which is just the way I like it.
Keep in mind that the rockhouse villas are really unique but you aren't going to find marble anything...just the most amazing view you've had from your bedroom! The food at the Rockhouse rocked!!

Mooning,
We haven't stayed at moondance yet. We are going at the end of July. All the villas have A/C by the way.
We are staying in the 1 bdrm, Lilac Mist for the first few nights and then they are moving us into the 3bdrm for the remainder of our stay sice Lila was booked. They sre still only charging us for the 1 bdrm though..YAYYY
As far as Lilac not being directly on the beach, it's still only steps away, but the nice thing about Lilac is you get your own private walled in garden with a private jacuzzi and outdoor shower, so that to me more than makes up for it.
I don't know think it will be strange to have staff there, I'm sure they give you as much privacy as you want and they don't actually spend the night

Hi all. The owner at Moon Dance- Randy I guess said he could give us the same deal with a two bedroom since Lilac Mist was also booked. So nice. We are not into crowded beaches with banana boats all over- for those of you who have been to Moon Dance is the beach in a highly populated area? Thanks!
