TCI Here we Come!!!

My BF and I just booked a trip to TCI and we will be there for a week at the end of June/begining of July. We're staying at the Somerset and couldn't be more excited especially given how so mnay people seem to love it there! I was hoping to tap into someone's knowledge of the islands since it is our first time. Are there specifics sights, restaurants, activities that shouldn't be missed during this trip? Appreciate any and all feedback!!

The best thing we did in T&c was do a tour of the nearby cays. We also had a great dinner at Coco Bistro.

You will love the Somerset, the on site LunaSea(pool bar is excellent for lunch) O'Soleil ( fine dining ) is fantastic and on fridays , live music, ask for a table in the Zen Garden (Reservation a must) VERY busy! Also, Somerset has a clam bake on tuesdays on the beach, Wed. Nite they have movie night on the lawn..
Also dine at Mango Reef, Coco Bistro, Magnolia, Caicos cafe, Bay Bistro, Hemingways, Grace's Cottage, Coyaba, For casual-Da Conch Shack or Horse-eye Jacks, Concierge, Ava can help, she was great in Feb, we are going back in August. Check out Sail Provo and Caicos Dream Tours for sails, snorkel etc. Walk to Coral Gardens and snorkel right there and have lunch at Somewhere on the Beach (Mexican)
If you have time, ferry to North Caicos, rent a car from Mark at Pelican Car Rentals and drive to Middle Caicos...fun day!
Rental on Provo www.gracebaycarrentals.com Older but well maintained cars. Have fun !!

you can't miss the tiki hut, it's an institution. wed is rib & chicken night and the place will be hoppin. it's at turtle cove marina. also at tc marina are sharkbite for a decent burger and fab t-shirt and aqua makes a nice dinner.
da conch shack is a hoot. they go into the ocean to fetch the conch and then cook to order.
you should go to the grace bay club for a cocktail one evening. they've built an amazing infinity bar: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wasserberg/2773561973/
agree with all of caribzack's suggestions except magnolia - nice view but we did not get a great meal.
hemingway's at the sands resort is perfect for lunch with a nice deck just off the beach.
there is ice cream at ports of call mall.
rent a car for at least a day and go out to chalk sound area. sopadilla bay beach is a gem and taylor bay beach, if you can find your way onto it, has the softest sand i've ever felt, but is too shallow for swimming. the water in the sound is a stunning color of tourquoise.

An excursion with Caicos Dream Tours should be mandatory. You snorkel the reef, dive for conch, and stop at Half moon Bay, one of the most gorgeous beaches you'll ever lay eyes on. Sometimes they also stop at Iguana island to search for iguanas, and snorkel for sand dollars at Ft. George. Just being on a boat on that amazing water will take your breath away.

As Virginia said, rent a car-check out Sapadilla Bay and Taylor Bay, that seem like big giant wading pools. Next to them is Chalk Sound, where you will never see water so turquoise anywhere in the world,it glows! finish by checking out Pelican Beach, where there are huge giant conch shells you can bring home. Also check out Da Conch Shack and try some conch, the place is always featured on the Travel Channel and Caribbean Travel & Life Magazine.

Check out Daniel and Nadine in the evenings: Wed night at Palms (next to Somerset) Thur nights at Da Conch Shack, and Fri nights at Somerset. You will become a groupie. Sat nights sometimes there's a band at Anocaona, next to Infinity Bar. Late night on weekends you can head to Danny Bouys, Nikki Beach, or Casablanca casino.

There is also a conch farm-only one in the world. Malcolm's Beach also make an exellent getaway. There is parasailing, banana boats and horses to ride at sunset. Hang out on the beach at sunset to see if you can see the elusive "green flash". Look for JoJo, the unofficial mascot dolphin of TCI.

You can day trip to North and Middle Caicos, for something completely different. You could even day trip to Grand Turk.

Snorkel off the beach at Coral Gardens and Smith's Reef. Best part? It's free.

The new Gansevoort Wymara is also starting to throw parties on Saturday nights.

My favorite restaurants? Coco Bistro makes everybody's list, do not miss.

I also like Hemmingways, Tiki Hut, Coyaba. Mango Reef is always a crowd pleaser, Somewhere on the Beach is awesome for breakfast, as is Bay Bistro. Magnolia's has a following, but I prefer to make a meal of appetisers, not entrees there. I love Anocaona for drinks. Nikki Beach is cool on weekends, but crowds there can be hit or miss. Fish Tacos at Hemmingways for lunch are do not miss.
