T&C vs. St. Martin vs. Barbados

I know September is hurricane season, but it is also when I am trying to plan an anniversary trip. These 3 places have great deals going on right now.

Any differences on the weather?

Your opinion of which is the best? We aren't lounge around all day type people...some sight-seeing, water sports, or night life would be great.

THANKS

Just doing some research...OR Grenada or Curacao??

Seems like Curacao has less chance of a hurricane.

"they say" the further south you are the less chance of hurricanes. i'd look at barbados. tons of things to do - nightlife & sightseeing. great restaurants.
grenda is very popular on fodors right now. if you click on it in the search box above you should find several recent trip reports.
provo is really nice in sept. but has very limited nightlife and no sightseeing to speak of. the diving/snorkeling is excellent.

Barbados is rather safe from hurricanes and lots of stuff to do/see.
Bathsheba is a little village on the east coast that is a favorite spot for photographers because of its picturesque rocky terrain.
There are several beautifully landscaped tropical gardens.
At Northpointe there is the Animal Flower Cave where sea anemones are in cave pools deep enough to swim in.
Beautiful beaches and tons of nightlife.

Of these islands, T&C are probably most likely to have a hurricane, followed by St. Martin, then Barbados, then Grenada, then Curacao.

The further south you go, the less likely you'll get a late-season storm, but just remember that hurricane Ivan hit Grenada in September 2004 (and Emily in 2005 was in July).

Barbados is much less likely to be hit by a strong hurriance since it's 100 miles further west than the other islands (which is why devastating hurricanes that grow ever greater in the Gulf often pass over Barbados in just a couple of days as father weak hurricanes or just tropical storms).
