My husband and I are considering Aruba for a summer vacation. Anyone know whether Aruba has decent surfing? My husband is on the beginner/intermediate level and I'd love to go somewhere he can surf.

I know Aruba has windsurfing; not sure about board surfing. Barbados has good surfing.

Barbados is pretty far south, but not as far south as Aruba. I've never been there between May or Sept so don't really know about the heat mid-summer, but it's a beautiful island and as long as you stay on the coast, you shouldn't be too hot!

In Aruba, my favorite activity was pushing a raft into the ocean, climbing aboard, and taking a long nap. Usually woke up in the exact spot I started.

In other words: bad for surfing!

If my memory serves me correctly, the areas with surf were very violent with rocky beaches. By rocky beaches I mean inaccessable.
