We are considering a vacation in St. Vincent. Are there any interesting things to do there? Any suggestions on hotels and restuarants. I've heard some good things, but I also hear that they do not care for Americans. HELP!!!!

Take a look at Young Island. The person that owns Young Island is a native MD and an outstanding man in his own nation based on his service to the local population. It is only a few hundred yards off the mainland. You eat there and the food is good. You can easily get to and around the main island since they run a continuous ferry back and forth. Also, they offer part on land and part on boat which is a good deal for sailing lovers. I would not say that anybody in the Caribbean really loves Americans--so what, but I don't think St. Vincents is as unfriendly as some other islands. Are you going to be loved? Some islands are more friendly since their poplulation is small and they recognize how much they depend on tourists. You go to the Caribbean for the climate and the warm water activities particularly when it is cold up north. With judgement most islands are as safe as most heavily populated cities in the U.S.
