have a cocktail at duffy's love shack - in a parking lot in red hook or the rum shack in the parking lot at havensight. ride the tram across from havensight for a drink at sunset. you can see the whole harbor & charlotte amalie.
i love eating at the blue moon cafe at secret harbour resort.
while definitely high end price wise you would enjoy havana blue at the marriott resort. you will NOT find anything like it at home.
secret harbour's beach is wonderful & has good snorkeling. magens bay beach is gorgeous - go early am or late afternoon to avoid cruise ship crowds. you can do parasailing from the sugar bay resort beach.
if you plan to take your rental car to st. john you must rent from a company that allows it - some do not. hopefully other posters can tell you which ones let you.

Island style restaurants include: Fish Tales and Island Time Pub in Red Hook, Mim's at Bolongo, Cuzzin's in town for lunch, Hook, Line and Sinker in French Town. Molly Molone's in Red Hook usually does a Thanksgiving feast. Blue Moon is no longer in business.

The tram to Paradise Point, especially on a Wednesday for sunset, is a fun idea. You can parasail from many beaches. Coral World is fun. Smith Bay Park/formerly Lindquist Beach is still fairly unknown- bring your own picnic and beverages as there is no restaurant yet. A trip out to Hull Bay is also fun and local. Thanksgiving is usually a fun time- season is just getting underway and the weather is usually great. Have fun!

loved lindquist. when we went the road in was almost a jeep trail. what does smith bay park consist of?

In St Thomas, I really enjoyed Sapphire Beach. Plenty of natural shade under those beautiful seagrape trees. Wasn't crowded like Magens was. And the snorkeling was decent (not great)....but it's a beautiful beach with 10 different shades of turquoise water.

I prefer St John (No "s") over STT all day long. Beaches are breath taking....snorkeling is way better. And the crowds pale in comparison to STT. I also feel much safer on St John than I ever did in STT. Plenty of great dining options in Cruz Bay (STJ).
