Hi - am preparing for my trip in LESS THAN 3 WEEKS!!!! I can't wait.
Anyway, we would like to do a moderate hike with good views on each island - are staying at Golden Rock on Nevis so will likely do a hike from there, but what about St. Kitts? Thought about the volcano hike, but don't want to commit an entire day to it. Any other hikes you would recommend on St. Kitts?
Lastly, attire - should we bring true hiking shoes or can we get away with running shoes for the hikes?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Don't know about St. Kitts, buton Nevis, I would highly recommend good hiking boots if you go up to the top of Mt. Nevis. After a rain or because of the mist, it gets slippery and some of the gorges are several hundred feet down. Plus, you'll be climbing up ladders on some parts, from the Golden Rock. For the short nature trail, which begins on the Golden Rock grounds, all you'll need is tennis shoes for the 1/2 hour hike. That's where a band of Green Vervet monkeys hand out, and you'll enjoy siting down and watching them. Robert
Check out the 1/2 day rain forest hike on St. Kitts. I know 2 different companies do them, you can get the company names online (sorry I don't have my info with me that had them on it).
