We are planning on staying at the Marriott in St. Kitts for 9 days next June. We haven't made the reservation yet as we are in a dilemma over which room to choose. We definitely want oceanview, but are confused as to whether an oceanview room in the main building or in the so-called "garden villas" is better. From the pictures on the Marriott website - http://marriott.com/property/propertyPage.mi?marshaCode=SKBRB - the garden villas look much closer to the ocean, so you would think that they would be better, but oceanview rooms advertised as being in the garden villas are cheaper than a standard oceanview room, which makes me think they aren't as good. Any advice? Thanks!

FYI All the rooms at the Marriott are beautiful. It's a personal choice about whether you want to be in the main building versus garden villas. The Garden Villas are better situated for access to the beach and pools but it's more of a walk to the main building.
I have to preface my reply by telling you that we did not stay at this Marriott, but did go there to the casino one night when we were staying on Nevis. The "garden villas" were closer to the beach. I'm guessing the main building is more expensive because the casino is there, the spa is there, many of the restaurants are there - convenience. I did get to go into one of the oceanview rooms in the main building, and it was very nicely appointed. Hope this helps! Have a great trip!
We stayed there in August and had an Oceanview room in the main building. It was a very nice room with a good view. It was nice to be able to just get into the elevator to get to restaurants, casino, etc. It was quieter than I thought it would be. It was also convenient to get to the main pool area. It was August and very quiet overall. If there was an event going on in the theater in front of the main building it might have been noisy. The outer buildings were very nice, but do require a walk to get to other areas. You won't go wrong with either. Its a beautiful island and resort.
We are looking into this resort too. On the Marriott reservation site it is not explicit whether "oceanview" truly has a balcony (all the other room types specify yes or no), although the photo seems to show balconies on all the smaller buildings. Does anyone know?
I believe that the oceanview rooms do have balconies. If you enter the dates that you are thinking about, it will pop up all the rates that are available. For each rate, it has a little button that says (if I recall correctly) "rate rules." Click on that button next to the oceanview room and every time I've looked it has said that the room does have a balcony. Hope that helps some!
