Three years ago we took a cruise to several Islands and loved them all. We did tours of gardens, vulcanos, beaches, etc. but one full day on each was not enough to really distinguish much between them. We recently spent four days on St Kitts with our DD who lives there. I loved it, just the small beaches, interesting food and no pressure to do anything - and we didn't. We don't snorkle or dive. Next visit, I would like to go zip-lining, tour the island, take the old sugar transport train, go out on a catamaran and visit Nevis.
We have DD's very nice, 2Bd Rm apartment (and car) to use free when she is away several times a year. Her apartment has no pool, but does have fabulous Ocean views and is 5-10 minutes to the beach. So, for those of you who have stayed on some of the other islands, for just relaxing, how do you compare them? We still have to pay for airfare and food, so is the savings of the cost of the apartment enough to justify going to St Kitts, or would we be better off spending a little more and renting a place on another island?
Also, friends may go with us. I wouldn't want them to be disappointed or bored. What do you all think?
For people who go to St Kitts often or live there part of the time, why do or did you choose St Kitts over one of the other islands?
Thank you so much.

Hi,
I was hoping RoamsAround would see this and answer but I'll at least bring it back up to the top with this reply.
We used to go to St. Kitts and now spend our week's vacation in Nevis. I have been visiting off and on since 1991. I think both islands are some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. Only you can decide if having a free place to stay makes it worth it for you, but I would jump at that chance.
Yes, you'd have airfare and food cost on any island, but having an apartment automatically cuts down on food and drink costs. It sounds as though there is more you want to do on the island, so why not go back? And you're saving quite a bit by not having to take taxis or rent a car.
You know your friends and what they like--but, I can't imagine not having a good time in St. Kitts, if you plan on doing just what you want, even if that is doing nothing.
You should definitely visit Nevis, tour Brimstone Hill, and all the other things you haven't done.
CW, Thank you so much. We decided to go last part of Jan for ten days or so, and are happy about it. Friends will probably not go anyway this time.
