St. Georges info on Bermuda
We are taking a spur of the moment trip to Bermuda [good arifare!] and wanted recommendations for the St. Georges area of the island, regarding restaurants and sights. This is one place we've wanted to 'get back to' for many years, having been there only once, for our honeymoon, 33 years ago! On our frist trip, we never made it to this part of the island.

I love St. George. I always make sure to get there by bus on my Bermuda trips. Basically, the White Horse Tavern is a classic seafaring pub where you can have a pint. I also like to walk up to past the unfinished church and golf course to Tobacco Beach, and St. Catherine's Fort. It's lovely and quiet and there is a new restaurant there but it was closed last time I went, only the bar was open (the name escapes me). For a very quiet meal, take the bus to St. David's and have a meal at the Blackhorse Tavern ? it?s a part of the island many never get to see.

Wandering in and out of the quaint street last time we found a little park which had been dedicated to Princess Margaret.. The Carriage House is reopened by the way, including the decor I believe from the Carriage Museum;. This trip I want to take a carriage ride around St. George. As a senior (in years only)..once in a while what flashes in my mind about St. George is walking hand in hand along the cobblestoned streets....very romantic.. You'll be able to watch the cruise ships coming and going..at night on the dock, Somers I think the two ships lit up are beautiful..We are sailing back for the 10th time to St. George on June 13th.. I can hardly wait.
