St Croix, any special to dos and don'ts?
We are staying near Christiansted at the Cormorant Beach Club. I hear good things about the island and the resort. What I want to know is what should we NOT MISS seeing or doing while we are there in Jan? Who has the best food? Where's the best shore snorkeling? Where's the best shopping, particulary for textiles & art? I love things that hang from the ceiling. Thanks very much.

I hope you enjoy your trip to St. Croix.
I am planning to get married there in May. Let me know how your trip goes.
As far as things to do, I have been collecting information on St Croix through books and websites and have found some good information. Make sure to write the USVI Tourist Board. They sent me a really nice package with some a really nice magazine for St. Croix. If you have any questions, drop me an email. Have fun,

keets
I really think you guys will like St.C. I think it's the best of the Virgins (US). It has a little bit of something for everyone but not all the hustle bustle crowds of STT. Of course we stay away from F'stad and the cruise ships.

Karen...be sure to go to Buck Is. in the morning. In the afternoon the light isn't as good and the coral and stuff isn't as pretty. Have fun, wish I were going too.

We stayed at the Cormorant a few years ago--it was OK, not great. Aside from Buck island, I also found the Whim plantation and the botanical gardens to be beautiful. I know that F'sted isn't the safest place, but we had read about snorkeling off the cruise ship pier and finding old pieces of china thrown overboard by ships at the turn of the century. We went, and had a great time! Met some real characters on the beach! visit the Top Hat restaurant for some great Danish food. Also, if you have a car, there's lots to explore that is not in the touristy areas. If you need more info, let me know!
