St. Bart's-- how can I get La Pinta vanilla rum?
I brought two bottles of this amazing rum home from the islands a few years back. Nearly gone now and I won't be going back to St. Bart's. I have searched the Internet for a source with no luck. Have heard that it's possible to have it shipped to the States as "syrup" rather than booze without problem since the alcohol content is quite low.
Anyone on St. Bart's with some helpful knowledge?
Thanks

David, there are a couple of recipes on-line for making your own. I haven't tried them yet.
http://www.parrotheadcookbook.com/20...nilla-rum.html
OR
2 Parts Sugar Cane Syrup (or simple syrup)
1 Part vanilla Extract
5 Parts Mount Gay Rum
2 parts Myers Rum
Good luck. Report back if you make some.
