We were there in April and found everyone very friendly. Although I assume the inside of the rooms is the same regardless of the location, I would not book a garden view room. The ones we saw were very near the pool and beach area, lacking privacy and with patios that were dark and put you in the view of all passersby. The ocean view or cove view rooms look out to the water and you can leave your window coverings open at all times, looking out to a beautiful view and your patio is a very pleasant place to sit and have cocktails, breakfast, etc. -- you feel you are in your own private cottage, without a person in site. I also agree with your conclusion that it is quite a trial to get there, and it would be be penny wise and pound foolish, not to have a nicer room if you can do it.
Great reply!
Thanks
