Saba is good for diving. No beaches.
St Barts has great restaurants and beaches. Not great diving or snorkling ( you need to go out in a boat.) St. Barts is expensive.
We go to St Barts every year for mainly relaxation. Your nite life is dinner (and the person you are with)
Saba is cool - when you arrive via boat it will remind you of Jurassic Park. People are wonderful and very friendly. Scout's Place in The Bottom has a great curry dressing. Take the steps up Mt. Scenery if you can - great view from the rainforest at the top. A general taxi tour is a good idea if it's your first time there. You'll be very glad that somebody else is driving! Whether you fly or take a boat over, bring some sea-sick pills, you'll need them, even if you never get sick. The Edge out of St. Martin is a good boat of choice - Captain Bob is the greatest!
St. Barts is good, but yes very expensive. $20 for a salad at lunch! Be certain to have a cheeseburger at Le Select (where Jimmy Buffett wrote "Cheeseburger in Paradise". Great music too. St. John's beach is very nice as well.
