Anyone been there then? Planning a trip for that time and would like some assurance it's not too hot, or too humid or too closed down. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have been there many many times. I am actually in Nevis right now, so I am not far away. It really should not be too hot, but that depends upon what you consider hot, should be in the 80s. Its not like Summer in the states where it is miserable and humid some places. If you want a lot of info post on the forums on www.sbhonline.com - those people know everything about SBH.
Was there at the end of August a couple of years ago and was fine. As long as you don't get unlucky with a hurricane you'll have a great time.
Thanks MIM04 & ccc. good to get on the ground intelligence.
I would suggest staying up a little higher where you may have some breeze instead of down on the beach, since the ocean is a little calmer then than in winter.
August will be fine! We have been there many times and never a problem with weather. I wish I was there now! You will love it!! Especially the finest cuisine anywhere! I can't wait to go back this July!
Have fun!
I've been to the island twice in August. It will be hot, but again, that does depend on your definition of hot as the second post said. But note that August is not exactly in high season there. Most restaurants and shops will be closed, though you will find enough open to get by on.
With that said, it is my favorite place in the world and I would move there if I could! Have fun!
