I am a widow in my seventies. I have traveled to the Caribbean many times, but never on my own. I am looking for a small inn (serving meals) preferably on the water, where I can spend time on my own next winter.
Suggestions?
Small in suitable for single traveler

Apologies, I obviously meant "inn" not "in."

Hmm...what is your budget?
Maybe St. Croix or Barbados?

www.secretharbourvi.com on st. thomas is wonderful. super beach with sandy, gradual water entrance. good snorkeling! has good restaurant serving 3 meals. all the rooms are condo style so lots of space; with kitchens in case you want to do some meals in your unit or have a cocktail on your deck. beach & units are quite well kept. i would feel completely comfortable there on my own. quick taxi ride into red hook if you want to shop a little or try another restaurant or ferry to st john for the day.
Agree about Secret Harbour. Also take a look at the Ferryboat Inn on Anquilla.
I love the area where this hotel is, it is secluded and rustic. Grenada is a friendly island. The photos on their website do not do justice to this lovely area.

Take a look at Nisbet Plantation in Nevis. http://nisbetplantation.com/
