small carribean b&b or inns?

We are starting to look for a small inn in either Puerto Rico or Barbados for 2 weeks in the winter. Anyone have any suggestions? We hate large hotels.

You can try searching some of the vacation rental (VR) portal sites to get some options. Once you find some place(s) you're interested in, ask lots of questions so that you can establish a level of comfort with the owner of the home. Some places to look include
www.vrbo.com
www.vrconnection.com
www.vacationrentalslisted.com

For Barbados you might find some useful info at www.destinationcaribbean.net. A new intimate hotel/inn just opened called Mayfield Hotel, but can't find their website.

My apologies, it is Bayfield House, bayfieldbarbados.com. Rates start at US$145 per night including breakfast.

I've heard many people rave about Peach & Quiet inn on Barbados, but I don't have any personal experience myself. On Puerto Rico, check out Numero Uno Guesthouse. I've not stayed there, but I spent a few very pleasant hours on the property last year while in transit between islands.

Is there a reason you're limiting yourself to those two very different islands? Or would you be open to other destinations?

Thanks for the links. We are carribean nuts and have been to most of the larger islands, with the exception of PR or Barbados. Thanks for the help.
