I am thinking if visitng Antigua and looking for a Hotel where as a single girl I will not be bored stiff by all the honeymooners.
Pineapple Beach is among my first choices, but I get the impression that lots of couples go there either to get married or on honeymoon.
Where does a single gal stay in Antigua that would be safe?

I'm wondering why you'd travel as a single to Antigua. Nothing wrong with that, but help me understand your priorities. With all the honeymooners and blue hairs, I'd think you'd have a hard time not being bored stiff.
You go girl, and bring some cuban cigars with you,see ya at happy hour.
Darlene:
Go for it...Thinking about making the same trip perhaps on February 6th. May stay at Halycon Cove.
If you want a more gamey island with single, then go to jamaica. But i think if you Antigua or Guadeloupe would be great...when are you planning on going?...Ciao...Ken
Hi Ken,
,food!!
I am going in August, and this is to the first poster;
Why wouldn't I want to go to Antigua, 365 beaches,a rich history,Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights,Exploring, Sailing, Carnival, Calypso, Snorkelling, Shopping
Come on, this is the 22nd century and
I have been to Aruba and St.Lucia as a single gal and enjoyed it immensley, in spite of the "blue hairs" and honeymooners.
Actually I was a sensation, lots of attention from the guys, sinlge and NOT!! Pissed off quite a few wives and girlfriends when their significant others followed me around the hotel all day..LOL. I can't help how I look in a bikini!
It just happens that when I am on vacation in August my friends are not, so rather than stay somewhere close to home and waste a perfectly good travel oppourtunity, I choose to fly solo.As an independent woman it's my right to choose where and when I go, and with whom.
Trust me, it's LOTS of fun, and you are never bored or lonely!!
You have the right to travel when, how, and where you choose. I will say, however, that you make yourself sound like a temptress, and enjoy it. Do you like flirting or is your intention to seek encounters with these men?
I think a single person in Antigua (female or male) might be less bored if she or he stayed in the Dickenson Bay area (e.g. Rex Halcyon Cove) or nearby Runaway Bay (e.g. Barrymore Beach Club).
The hotels on Runaway Bay are less expensive.
It is not what I would call a "lively" island, for the most part.
Hugh,
I don't do a thing, I am just myself. And, no, I am not seeking encounters with men when I travel. I do enjoy making friends from around the globe.
I have been to Pineapple Beach..though lovely, it is primarily couples and families. It is also quite a distance to get anywhere else you might want to go. I am heading to Jolly Beach Resort in a few days...I hear there are more singles, more to do and it is closer to St. Johns as well as English Harbor. Great island...have a blast!
Darline,
I am married but traveling single to Antigua also. I need some time away to relax. I am staying at the Hawksbill Beach resort. I don't mind traveling solo, last year I spent 10 days in Paris. Anyway, I like your attitude. When are you going in August? Perhaps we can get together for some shopping.
Darlene, You go wherever you want but I would look at the Pineapple a little closer. According to WheretoStay.com, I think you will find it closing down for various reasons.
