Showers in weather forcast

Hi. Heading to Barbados in a week and the long term forcast shows showers showers showers. This is not what I am going to the caribean for. Is this just light rain showers or are we in for a wet trip?
thanks

Quick....Cancel your trip!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding of course. Just about every island in the caribbean shows rainy forcasts. This is because it does in fact rain a lot on many islands, but these are brief showers lasting a few minutes.

So yes, you'll (probably) encounter a few showers, but chances are good that it will have little to zero effect on your trip. There just is no need to worry about something beyond anyone's control. Stop stressing....go and relax.

No problem - I live there. At this time of year, the showers come and pass so quickly. It's just a refreshingly cool break. It's nice and windy now too so much cooler. Enjoy.

Showers usually means a quick sprinkle in the late afternoon. We've been going down every Feb. for the past 5 years and the long range has always said lots of showers and we've never experienced anything but gorgeous sunshine and a bit of a sprinkle - we don't even leave the beach now when the rain comes. We head down in 2 days. Have fun!

My husband and I went to St. John on our honeymoon, and the forecast was for storms and showers all week. Sure enough, every day at around 2 or 3, there was a crazy downpour for about 5 minutes. That was it. Don't worry.

I absolutely agree that showers generally mean brief periods of rain, and this time of year you're safer than usual. But there are times when, unseasonable or not, you might experience day after day of rain.

All of my vacations in the Caribbean except one have had near-perfect weather, and that one we had 7 our of 10 days of rain. Just to be on the safe side, plan ahead for a few activities that you can still enjoy in the rain--shopping? an island tour? Bring books and small travel sized games and if you never have to use them, great!
