I have read good things but am hesitating based on the lack of information about it and because I don't often hear of people going there- is it worth the trip?
Should we go to Grenada?

Yes, it's definitely worth the trip, but don't expect the tourist facilities to be as refined as on some of the other islands. This, and the fact that you don't hear of alot of people going there are some of the reasons it is so nice. When I've gone, it seemed like most of the visitors were European, mainly German and British.
Oh yes, go go go! Make a point of finding this lush island's seven waterfalls (don't be intimidated by the friendly locals who hang around each one and offer to act as guides for a few dollars tip - they're quite well informed). Grenada grows lots of their own food, and so restaurant dining is delicious there. There's hiking and some gorgeous beaches and good history in the main town, and the Saturday market there is the absolute best I've been to (there's even a character selling coconuts who wears overalls made from straw). We took our daughters there, and one night we came upon a group of locals walking along the road and they invited us to help them hunt for mountain chicken (big old frogs). This island is the real thing!

P.S. Try doing a search for Grenada on this forum, you may find lots of other info.
Grenada was a great experience when I was there @ 4 years ago. There is not a friendlier island. We walked to the restaurants under the stars. We had pizza at a restaurant downtown called"Porto Fino" which didn't look great from the outside but it was the best I've ever eaten!
Yes - definitely. Very friendly, extremely pretty, some excellent hotels. Best of all - much less 'production line' than some other Caribbean Islands.
